My name is Claire Coombs and I am the executive Director of the Renfrew Agovates. I am a relatively new transplant to Renfrew County after growing up in Ottawa and spending time in Waterloo, Kitchener, Ridgetown, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our blog is a place for our directors, and our team of volunteers to share their experiences in agriculture, what they are currently up to on the farm, and any stories of working as an agvocate in the county. In my role as executive director, I will be helping connect the agriculture industry with people in the county and finding ways to promote agriculture across Renfrew and Eastern Ontario. Though I currently work in the agriculture industry I did not grow up on a farm and still consider myself a “newbie” in the industry.
